In plants, each organ has several functions. Roots keep a plant in the ground. Leaves absorbs sunlight. The stem uphold the leaves and flowers. Reproductive organs let a plant to produce new plant. Together, these organs makes it to carry out the processes of life.

In animals, there are five organ systems namely: circulatory system which is needed for the flow of blood, oxygen, and nutrients throughout the body; respiratory system breathes life into the body; nervous system is the one that transmit signals to and from the different parts of the body; digestive system involves the breakdown of food until it is absorbed into the body and skeleton system that gives the structure of the body. These bodily system works together to keep the body healthy and able to meet the challenges of daily life.

Xylem brings and stores water and water-soluble nutrients in plants. It distributes water and dissolved minerals upward through the plant, the the roots to the leaves. Phloem is the one tranporting sugars, proteins, and other organic molecules in plants. It carries food downward from the leaves to the roots.
