How many solutions does the equation 4x + 8 = − 2 − 2 + 5x have? *I chose b, is that right?*

b. One
c. Zero
d. Infinitely many

Yup the answer is b) One
4x + 8 = -2 -2 +5x
If you solve to find x, you get 1x = 12.
You can't substitute 12 for any other number (including -12) so the answer is b) One.
