you have to use the reciprocal. for example, 4/5 divided by 1/3
you would leave the dividend the same but flip the divisor. you would change it to a multiplication sign. 4/5 times 3/1
then multiply straight across. hope i helped

Hi!

Let's say that we have 5/8 and 3/4 and we have to divide them . One thing that is very important when dividing fractions is knowing the meaning of reciprocal.
When we are dividing fractions we use the reciprocal, for example the reciprocal of 3/4 is 4/3 .

5/8 divided by 3/4 = 5/8 divided by 4/3

Now that we have the reciprocal of 3/4 , we multiply both fractions . We don't "divide them " .
So it's something like this

5/8 times 4/3=20/24

Just find the reciprocal and multiply !

Hope it helps and have a wonderful day!
