we know that

1\ pound=453.592\ grams

so by proportion

convert grams to pounds

Part a)
800\ grams

(1)/(453.592)(lb)/(g) =(x)/(800)(lb)/(g)\\ \\x*453.592=800\\ \\x=800/453.592

x=1.76\ lbs

therefore

the answer Part a) is

1.76\ lbs

Part b)
700\ grams

(1)/(453.592)(lb)/(g) =(x)/(700)(lb)/(g)\\ \\x*453.592=700\\ \\x=700/453.592

x=1.54\ lbs

therefore

the answer Part b) is

1.54\ lbs
