y - 3 = 2x -1 ...y = 2x + 2

x +3 = y - 1

replace y = 2x + 2 into x +3 = y - 1

x +3 = 2x + 2 - 1
2x -x = 3 -1
x = 2

y = 2x + 2
y = 2(2) + 2 = 6

answer x = 2 , y = 6 first choice
