We are given a compound, nitric acid which is used to determine the amount of minerals of a soil sample. The pH of the nitric acid used if its molarity is 0.001M is:
pH = -log[0.001]
pH = -[-3]
pH = 3
Therefore, the pH of the nitric acid is 3.
