The one main conflict was about slavery being allowed in the U.S. The north wanted slavery while The South wanted peace and no slavery at all. This led to a divided nation.Here is the second conflict.States authority over federal authority. The boundary line that decided if a new state entering the union would be a northern free state or a southern slave state.
