Why is John Brown’s speech especially effective after receiving the death sentence? He never accuses his captors of being biased against him. He accuses his captors of not following Christian teachings. He asks for neither mercy nor forgiveness from his captors.

After his death sentence he became not only a fighter for human rights but also a martyr for the cause, he says that if his blood is the price for the furtherance of justice he would do so and join the millions of slaves that had spilled blood already.

The answers is He asks for neither mercy nor forgiveness from his captors.
