Remember, finding the distance is basically just finding the slope. So, if m = slope, then the formula is :

m = y₂-y₁ / x₂ - x₁

(-3,8), (-3,-8)

Simply plug in the values,

m = (-8 -8) / (-3 - (-3)

Simplify.

m = -16 / 0

So, m = 0

Next set of points.

(2,4) and (0,6)

m = 6 - 4 / 0 - 2

Simplify.

m = 2 / -2

m = -1

~Hope I helped!~
