mandy's square quilt measures 99 inches on each edge. how many yards of trim does she need to buy to go around the entire quilt?

To find the perimeter just add all the sides together. Since it's a square, we can do 99*4. That gives us 396 inches
But wait! They want us to answer in yards. Since there are 3 feet in a yard and 12 inches in a foot, there are 36 inches in a yard. 396/36 is 11, making the answer 11 yards

36 in ------> 1 yd


99 in ------> x

x = (99)(1)/36
x = 2.75
99 inches equals 2.75 yards and that is the amount of trim that Mandy needs to go around the entire quilt
