Jack bought two belts for $21.95 each and 3 t-shirts for d dollars each. He spent a total of $72.40.

Add the total of the belts together and and subtract that total from $72.40. Then take the remaining amount and divide it by 3.

Writing your equation should look similar to this...
$21.95(2) + 3d = $72.40.

Go ahead and solve it. You should get the answer $9.50 for each of the T-shirt. Hope this helps!

Let's start by creating our equation:
72.4=3d+2(21.95)
72.4=3d+43.9
72.4-43.9=3d
28.5=3d
The answer is d=9.5
