What would the total bill be of a lunch that costs $7.99 with a tax rate of 7%

Since the tax rate is 7%, multiply the bill by 1.07 to get the total.
This gives us the answer of 8.5493, which is too much for a monetary value.
The answer is, when rounded to the nearest hundredth, $8.55


(However in real-life you would only pay $8.54, because of the laws reguarding sales taxes)

Its about 8.55. I just rounded it to the nearest cent.
