The numbers displayed are written in scientific form, so I'll re-write in standard form to display the difference.

6 X
10^5 = 600,000. 2 X
10^3 = 2,000

One has a few more zeroes, making all the difference because the larger you're working with, the greater the distance.

Really, if what you wanted was the difference, then the answer is simply 598,000.
