Hi, I'm sorry if I waisted a answer for this but your more than welcome to take this down.

So here's my question... ↓

#1. How did you get 16 as your answer, because I got 32?

And let me she u how I got that answer...

If each triangle is 6 (3 × 2) inches and there's 4 triangle's then that would be this..... 6 × 4 = 24.

THEN

If the square equals 8 (2 × 4) and there's only one square then all you have to do is add..... 24 + 8 = 32.

So if anyone can let me know how they got 16 that would be great!

If I am correct then I hope this helped but if I'm wrong I'm very sorry and I would like to know what I did was wrong. Please and Thank you!

Answer:

16 square inches

Explanation:

Each triangle has an area given by ...

A = 1/2bh = (1/2)(2 in)(3 in) = 3 in²

The square base has an area given by ...

A = s² = (2 in)² = 4 in²

The total surface area of the figure is that of the square base along with 4 triangles:

S = 4 in² + 4(3 in²) = 16 in²
