y=mx+b, where m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) and b is equal to the value of y when x=0

We are given the point (0,0) so we know b=0, now just find the slope...

m=(-3-0)/(4-0)=-3/4 so the line is:

y=-3x/4

we have that

The line passes through the points
A(0,0)\ B(4,-3)

If the point passes through the origin

then

The linear equation is a direct variation

Remember that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent a direct variation if it can be expressed in the form
y/x=k or
y=kx

In this case the constant of proportionality k is equal to the slope of the line

Find the value of k

y/x=k

Substitute the values of x and y of the point B

-3/4=k

k=-(3)/(4)

the equation of the line is

y=-(3)/(4)x

therefore

the answer is

y=-(3)/(4)x
