The nurse will explain that the medication will inhibit development of stress ulcers. The patient must know that the main function of famotidine which is prevention of development of physiologic stress ulcers. The possible stress ulcers can actually be defined as a serious trauma. It does not cause vomit and prevents pylori infection.
