Please help! I can't wrap my head around Point-Slope Equation of a Line.

Write a point-slope equation for the line that has slope 1.4 and passes through the point (21, 5). Do not use parentheses on the y side.

Point slope is extremely easy once you figure it out!!

All you need is a point and a slope (obviously lol). Here is the formula:

y-(y1)=m(x-x1)

Where m=slope, and (x1, y1) is the point they give you.

So if you're given the point (21, 5) and the slope 1.4, plug in those numbers to the formula.

y-5=1.4(x-21)

You can add the 5 on both sides to solve for y so the final answer would be:

y=1.4(x-21)+5

Let's say you were given the point (5, 7) and the slope is 2. Your equation would be:

y-7=2(x-5)

Which you could solve for y to be:

y=2(x-5)+7
