We need to get the x variable on one side. Typically we put the variable on the left side. And the numbers on the opposite side of the variable. Usually on the right side because the variable more times than none is one the left side.

4.3x + 0.7 = 5

Let's get rid of that 0.7. Subtract each side of the equation by 0.7

4.3x + (0.7 - 0.7) = 5 - 0.7
4.3x = 4.3

Now divide each sides by 4.3

4.3x / 4.3 = 4.3 / 4.3

x = 1

So, the answer to this question is 1.
