Paraphrase the disagreement between Sir Thomas More and King Henry VIII and analyze the extent to which religion wielded political power during this time period

although more and the king were friends more held his religious beliefs above his friendship with the king. Henry wanted a divorce and Thomas would not grant him one. Henry then outlawed catholicism in England and beheaded his friend thomas. religion was then at the whim of the monarchy. if a king didn't like it the official religion would change to fit what the monarchy wanted. protestant ism became the official religion of England.
