Th equation of motion linking velocity , gravity and distance is
v^2 = u^2 + 2gs where v = final velocity , u = initial velocity , g = acceleration due to gravity
so here, we have
v^2 = 3^2 + 2*32*s
s = (v^2 - 9) / 64
