Everyone wanted more slaves so that they could use them to harvest all of the land they took over during the war.

If I remember right slavery was greatly increased as a result of the Punic Wars because everyone wanted more slaves to harvest from all the land they took over while the Owners where at war. I think thats the answer Sorry if im wrong
