The formula is "
(y2-y1) = m(x2-x1)===> since this is parallel to y=3x, that means both have the same slope, that is 3:
(y2-y1) = 3(x2-x1)===>y+12 = 3x -6 or y=3x-18

y-y1=m(x-x1)
y+12=3(x-2)
y+2=3x-6
y=3x-8
