The species found in Cape Verde are more related to African species as Cape Verde island is situated at nearly 570 km from the western coast of Africa.

So it is possible that due to their nearest distance from the different continents these islands receive migration of plants and animals that evolved on these islands so they are very different from each other.

Though they are both islands that sprung from volcanic eruptions, the Galapagos island is more abundant of different species of wildlife compared to Cape Verde Islands.
