What is the value of x when 4y = x2?

(I am assuming x2 means x^2 or x squared.)

To solve this your goal is to get x by itself. So,

4y =
x^(2)

Then square root each side:


√(4y) = \sqrt{ x^(2) }

then it becomes:


2y= x

So, x = 2y
