During the 19th century there was a resurgence in European anti-Semitism. Though discrimination against Jews waned during the age of liberalism and the Enlightenment (1600s) it managed to survive into the modern era. In some parts of 18th century Europe, Jews were still subject to discriminatory laws and regulations.
