Noa drove from the Dead Sea up to Jerusalem, and her altitude increased at a constant rate of 740 meters per hour. When she arrived in Jerusalem 1.5 hours later, her altitude was 710 meters above sea level.

We are given that her altitude increased at a constant rate of 740 meters per hour.

Altitude increase in t hours = 740t

So, height after t hours =
H(t)=H+740t

Now we are given that When she arrived in Jerusalem 1.5 hours later, her altitude was 710 meters above sea level.

So, H(t)=710 m

Substitute the values in the equation .

t = 1.5 hours


710=H+740(1.5)


710=H+740(1.5)


710-740(1.5)=H


-400=H

So, initial height is -400

So, equation :
H(t)=-400+740t

Hence function which represents the situation is
H(t)=-400+740t
