You are going on a field trip in a school bus. A special detector placed on one of the bus's tires counts the number of rotations completed by the tire during the journey. The tire's diameter is 1 meter, and it made 8000 rotations during the trip. How far did the bus travel? Give your answer in terms of pi.

First you need to find the circumference of the circle because 1 revolution is 1 length of the circumference. The formula for the circumference is C=2πr or C=πd, if the diameter is 1 metre, then the circumference is π1 which is just π, and if it travelled 8000 rotations then that would mean it travelled 8000π, so it travelled 8000π in metres

Answer:
8000\pi \text{meters}

Explanation:

We know that the total distance covered by any tire or wheel is given by :-

\text{Distance =Number of rotations * Circumference}

Given: Diameter of Tire = 1 meter

Number of rotations = 8000

Formula of circumference :-

C=\pi d, where d is the diameter .

Then, the the total distance covered by any tire will be :-

\text{Distance }=8000*\pi (1)\\\\\Rightarrow\text{Distance}=8000\pi \text{ meters}

Hence, the total distance covered by the tire =
8000\pi \text{meters}
