The ratio of boys to girls is 3:5.
12 and 20 both can be divided by four.
12/4 = 3
20/4 = 5
3:5. This is the simplest form of 12:20.

The answer is 3:5, because 12:20 can be simplified down by dividing by 4, 12/4 is 3, 20/4 is 5.
