Hello there!

-3| 2x + 6| = -12
2x + 6 = -12/-3
2x + 6 = 4
Solve absolute value
We know that 2x + 6 = 4 or 2x + 6 = -4
We have two possibilities to solve this.

1)
2x + 6 = 4
2x = 4 - 6
2x = -2
Divide both sides by -2
2x/-2 = -2/-2
x = 1

2)
2x + 6 = -4
2x = -4 - 6
2x = -10
Divide both sides by 2
2x/2 = -10/2
x = -5

Answer : X = -1 or X = -5

A+ Guaranteed!
