2(3x+6)−96=6(2x−4)−56

What value of x makes the equation true?

You should first of all distribute and combine like terms on both sides. You should subtract 6x from both sides. Once you have done that, you should add 80 to both sides and divide by 6 to get your answer as a simplified fraction of x=-2/3. The correct answer is b.
