Answer:

The food pyramid balances all the nutrients, and protiens that the human body needs. The food pyramid can and cannot be affective. some people may not be allowed or permitted too eat such foods. Such as dairy or gluten. Therefore it can be good for some but not always

Maybe discuss how....

They displayed what food groups to eat, examples of foods in that group, and the recommened portions to help persuade consumers to make wise descisions to meet the daily reccomended requirements

Breaking down types of food into different catergories helped consumers choose different categories creating a balanced diet (i.e knowing how to portion out the daily serving of fruit and the daily serving of protein, if that makes sense)

Pointing out how fats and sugars are not good and should only be consumed in moderate amounts

So on and so forth.
Personally I think it is effective, but consider the different componenents of the food pyramid and reflect upon that in your reasoning.
