kevin and randy muise have a jar containing 50 coins, all of which are either quarters or nickels. the total value of the coins in the jar is $10.10. how many of each type of coin do they have?

You would have 38 quarters=$9.50 and you would have 12 nickels=$.60, which means that you would have a total of $9.50+$.60=$10.10 and then 38+12=50 coins.
