an equilateral triangle has equal sides
so if you divide the perimeter by 3 you would get the length for all of the sides
21/3 = 7
since it said it was decreased by 3 inches you add 3 inches back
7 + 3 = 10
so the original length of one side of the triangle is 10 inches
