Explanation:

As Samuel adds money to his account we are multiplying the times he adds with 12 therefore x multiplied by 12 will give us the total he added + 60 the original number.

As of D the position does not matter because B and D are both the same.

For E if we distribute or multiply 12 into the brackets we get the same statement as that of B and D.

A does not work because he is adding 12 dollars into the account everytime and not 60 dollars, C doesn't work because we would be subtracting the amount he is adding so we would be removing the money from the bank.
