Why does Helen say she left with Paris? Aphrodite cast a spell on her. Paris kidnapped her. Paris seduced her with outlandish promises. She didn't feel that Menelaus appreciated her. She claims not to remember.

Aphrodite cast a spell on her. This is shown when Helen later speaks on the matter saying she regrets leaving with Paris and her husband Menelaus says he forgives her because Aphrodite can do that to people.

Helen says she left with Paris because Aphrodite cast a spell on her. Helen was the most beautiful woman in the world. Her father was Zeus. She was married to Menelaus and during one of his absences, she went to Troy with Paris. This was the cause of the Trojan War. Aphrodite had promised to give Helen to Paris if he gave her the apple for being the most beautiful woman.
