One of the ways in which the United Nations has been successful since its founding is improving the standards of living of millions of people worldwide. The UN has been able to do so thanks to the establishment of multiple organizations dedicated to this, such as WHO, UNICEF and FAO.
The UN has been better able to reach this achievement than an individual country would have been due to the fact that it receives funding from everywhere in the world. Moreover, its staff is made up os experts in many different areas and from many different locations. Finally, countries are more likely to accept UN intervention as they know they do not hold the same political interests that individual countries might hold.
