.59=84.96/x
multiply by x
x*.59=84.96
divide by .59
You get a volume of 144 cm3

Then take l*w*h= 144
substitute the variables you know
2*8*h=144
Multiply
16h=144
Divide
h=9

Answer:

9 cm

Explanation:

A block of walnut wood has a mass of 84.96 g and density of 0.59 g/cm^3 . The block is a rectangular prism with a length(l) of 2 cm and a width(w) of 8 cm.

We have to find the height(h) of the prism.

Volume=Mass/density

Also, volume of rectangular prism=lwh

Hence, Mass/density=lwh

84.96/0.59=2×8×h

⇒ h=144/16

⇒ h=9 cm

Hence, height of the block of walnut is:

9 cm
