Your best friend, Christine, has been taking ballet lessons since she was three years old. She wants to be a professional dancer. Her parents want the same for her and are constantly pushing her to practice and to try out for various programs. Christine is always concerned about her weight as well as her body image. She is very conscious about what and how much she eats. You tell her she looks terrific and is not at all overweight. In fact, you think she may be underweight. But Christine disagrees with you. She confides in you that her dance instructor told her she was too fat. Her dance instructor makes all the girls in the dance class weigh in before every lesson. If any girl weighs too much, the instructor makes her sit in front of a mirror during the entire lesson. Christine told you she had to do this once, and it was so humiliating that now she’ll often make herself vomit before a lesson so she won’t weigh too much.

Christine's ballet teacher is lowering her students self esteem. Christine us nit eating enough food, so she's nit getting the right nutrition that she needs. In order for Christine to dance, her teacher have her weighing herself, making her weight everything she thinks about, which basically making her dying yo be thin.
