Rodger visited a ski and snowboard shop the other day to buy a new snowboard. The store said it was having a sale, 20% off snowboards. Usually, these snowboards cost $300 when they aren't on sale. Rodger told his friend, John, that they are only $60 today. But John thinks that he made a mistake in his math. What did he do wrong? Find the real price of the snowboard.

300$ Divide By 20% but simplify 20% and you get 0.2 so 300/0.2 the answer is 150

The cost is 240 since 300 x .8 is 240. The problem he made was that he did 300 x .2, and this equals 60. So the correct answer is 240.
