Pasty makes lemonade every morning she uses 2 1/4 cup of sugar and 4 3/5 cups of lemon juice how many cups of sugar and lemon juice does she use altogether

Basically what you need to do is find a common denominator between 4 and 5. The answer would be 20. That would be the denominator. If you are multiplying 3/5 to get to twenty multiply 5x4=20. 3x4=12. You need to do the same thing to the numerator . Same for 1/4 multiply by 5. 4x5=20. 1x5=5 so, you would add 2 5/20 and 4 12/20. You would get 7 17/20 if you do it correctly :)
