look at the options

A. yeilds 9, we need √9 or 3
B. gives us some wierd number
C. this works
D. nah, this yeilds 9

answer is C

remember that

(a^b)(c^b)=(ab)^b

I'm pretty sure it's C. Just so you know, putting something to the 1/2 power is basically taking the square root of the number.

Ex: 9^1/2=3
81^1/2=9
