Use the distributive property to expand the expression. −(3a3 − 4b2) + (12x − 9y − 5) A) −3a3 + 4b2 + 12x − 9y − 5

B) −3a3 + 4b2 − 12x − 9y − 5
C) −3a3 − 4b2 + 12x − 9y − 5
D) −3a3 − 4b2 − 12x − 9y − 5

a(b+c)=ab+ac
do each group seperately
-(3a^3-4b^2)=-1(3a^3-4b^2=-3a^3+4b^2
(12x-9y-5)=1(12x-9y-5)=12x-9y-5

add them up to do
-3a^3+4b^2+12x-9y-5
answer is A

the answer is a because all you have to do when expanding is replace the sign in front of 4b^2 and everything stays the same. (Idk if my explanation helped but I tried ‍♀️)
