First, you need to calculate the area of the rectangle in the figure. The formula to calculating the area of a rectangle is base times height. The height of the rectangle is 7 in. and the base or the bottom of the rectangle is 5 in. 7 times 5 is 35 in. squared. Then calculate the area of the triangle. The formula for determining the area of a triangle is the base of the triangle times the height divided by two. The base of the triangle is 5 in. and the height is 3 in. Multiplied together, the answer is 15 and lastly divide it by 2 which will give you 7.5 . Then, you need to calculate the area of the semi-circle. To calculate that, you need to know the formula. The formula for the semi circle is the pie symbol r and two over r divided by 2. Once you have your answer, add up all your answers and you will have your real answer.
