-2n-24=-8 (2n-4)
Simplify
Multiply 2n and -4 by -8
-2n-24=-16n+32
A negative ×negative =positive this is why 32 becomes positive
A negative × a positive= negative this is why 16 becomes negative
Now add both sides by 24
-2n= -16n+56
Now add 16n to both sides
14n= 56
Divide both sides by 14
N= 4
Hope that helps let me know if you need more help understanding:)

-2n-24=-8(2n-4)
Multiply both sides by -1
2n+24=8(2n-4)
Distribute the right side
2n+24=16n-32
Subtract 2n from both sides
24=14n-32
Add 32 to both sides
56=14n
Divide 14 from both sides
n=4
