first, open up the parenthesis. you get 3t+12-4t-6=-4

combine like terms
-t+6=-4
subtract 6 from both sides
-t=-10
cancel out the negatives
t=10

3(t+4)-2(2t+3)=(-4)
3t+12-4t-6=(-4)
6-t=(-4)
t=10
