we have here a spinner with 8 numbers, and the spinner has the same probability of landing in every number.

then each number has a probability of 1/8

now we want to see the probability of the spinner landing on a number that is greater than 5.

the possible numbers greater than 5 are 6, 7 and 8

So we have 3 options.

Then the probability of the given event, is the number of options that make the event true (3), divided b the total amount of options (8).

In this case you have p = 3/8

Then the right option is D.
