A student is revising the sentence below. When I started feeling tired and run down, I made sure to get lots of sleep, drink plenty of fluids, take my vitamins, and perform other preventive measures against getting a cold.

Which of the following would be the best replacement word for preventive?

Damaging: causing injury

Protective: covering or shielding from injury

Sedative: having a calming effect

Soothing: creating a feeling of calm or comfort

Protective because you are protective yourself from receiving a cold.

The word Protective would be the best replacement for the word Preventative because we want to protect(prevent) ourselves from having a cold! Right? The other choices just don't make sense in the statement. Hope I helped!
