Your answer would be (x - 7) in fact (x+7)(x-7) is x^2-49. That's called difference of two binomials.

Answer:
(x-7)

Explanation:

Given: A binomial has been partially factored, as shown below:

x^2-49=(x+7)(_)

We know that an identity in algebra says that

a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)

In the given binomial , a= x and b=
√(49)=7

Therefore,
x^2-49=x^2-(7)^2=(x+7)(x-7)

Hence,
(x-7) is the binomial represents the missing factor.
