In order to find a vector multiplication by a scalar, we follow the rule:

u\ast(n_1,n_2)_\Rightarrow(un_(1,)un_2)

then, if we apply it to the vector v, we need to find the dimensions of the vector, for that we subtract the initial point from the terminal point,

(-8-8,10-4)\Rightarrow(-16,6)

then, multiply by the scalar -1/2,

-(1)/(2)\ast(-16,6)\Rightarrow(8,-3)

Answer:

(8,-3)
