f=t-24 and f+t=126, using f from the first in the second gives you:

t-24+t=126

2t-24=126

2t=150

t=75 and since f=t-24,

f=51

So Kendrick received 75 emails on Thursday and 51 on Friday.

Thurs=X
Friday= X-24
X+X-24= 126
2x-24=126
2x=150
X=75

Thurs= 75
Friday= 51
